Teach Yourself Guitar – Three Simple Steps To Start Your Journey As A Guitarist

Do you want to start your journey as a guitarist? Not sure how you can do that? Fear not, because today, I will be sharing with you how you can do that. All you need to do is teach yourself guitar. It really is not as difficult as it may first sound. Read till the end of this article, and I hope by then that you will have a better understanding of how you can get started.

Buy A Basic Guitar

Now, if you do not own a guitar yet, then obviously you need to buy one. Well, you could also borrow one, but I do not encourage that. Here’s why. If you borrow someone else’s guitar, there is a tendency that you may not form a close bond with it because it isn’t your “baby”. Furthermore, you will eventually need to return it to whomever it was you borrowed it from. When you buy a guitar, it will be easier for you to develop a close and tight relationship with it, because you paid for it with your own money, and it is yours to take care of. Anyway at this stage you do not need a really expensive guitar. All you need is a simple and basic guitar to start your journey.Teach Yourself Guitar – Three Simple Steps To Start Your Journey As A Guitarist

Sign Up For Guitar Classes Online

The best way you can teach yourself guitar is by signing up for guitar classes online. Conduct a search on the internet for guitar classes online and you should find yourself with many options to choose from. Have a look at reviews and testimonials before you choose one. Anyway I prefer these online lessons to those offline because of a few reasons. Firstly, you do not need to travel to a music school to attend the lessons. You can definitely save on your transportation expenses here. Secondly, most of these online lessons come in the form of video tutorials, so you can pause and play the videos as you wish. Thirdly, online lessons give you the freedom to choose when you want to learn, unlike offline classes, where you have to attend a class at, say, 3pm.

Challenge Your Friends

As you get better in your guitar playing, you can begin to challenge your friends in battles. Gather an audience and look for an opinion. Both of you will then play a song and the crowd will decide who played the song better. This is a good way for you to teach yourself guitar on a more advanced level, as well as prepare you for live performances.

I hope you have found this article on how to teach yourself guitar and start your journey as a guitarist useful. I hope you will enjoy every minute of your journey too!

However, if you are not familiar with that yet, do familiarize yourself with guitar notes first. Something else that I would like to bring up is that chords can be played in a variety of ways, not just the standard way. These are known as variations. Variations exist to suit certain styles of playing. I do not recommend that you learn every single variation if you are a total newbie. Basic Guitar Lessons – Be Sure Not To Make These Mistakes

Hi there. Are you interested in taking up basic guitar lessons? Well, today, I would like to share with you three mistakes that some beginners make, and hopefully you will not make them when you start learning how to play the guitar. Anyway without further ado, let me get started!

They Give Up Easily

Look, it comes to learning something new, you have to give yourself ample time to pick up the necessary skills. You will not turn into a pro overnight. This is especially true if you are just learning basic guitar lessons. Some people just give up way to soon! It may seem difficult at the start, but I encourage you to press on! Be sure to spend at least an hour practicing every day. You need to practice on a consistent basis, not 5 hours one day and not touching it for the next 5 days before practicing for another 5 hours on the seventh day. Be consistent, persevere, and take it slow. I believe you will eventually become the guitarist you have always wanted to become, as long as you persevere.Basic Guitar Lessons – Be Sure Not To Make These Mistakes

They Do Not Follow The Lesson Plan

Some people want to learn to play the guitar so quickly that skip some of the lessons, in hopes to learn something more advanced. If you are a newbie, I do not recommend you choose this method of learning, even if you think you are a faster learner. This is because you may not have gotten the foundations strongly built yet. Again, you need to exercise patience here. Follow the lesson plan without skipping anything, and master the foundational stuff, such as notes, chords and scales. If you want, you can try playing some simple songs to help you out. But please, do not skip any lessons. It is vital that you understand the fundamental concepts such as root notes, scales and keys, so that you will be able to cope with more advanced lessons later on.

They Do Not Develop Muscle Memory

When you are taking up basic guitar lessons, it is important that you develop muscle memory. This is so that you need not be looking at the fretboard and strings all the time while you are playing. Learn to visualize where your finger will be moving too when you are about to change chords. Then, when you are more confident, try playing that without looking. Remember, practice makes perfect, and your muscles will not have a chance to memorize the movements unless you give them the chance to memorize.

With that I hope you are aware of what mistakes to avoid when taking up basic guitar lessons. I hope you have enjoyed this article and I hope you will also enjoy your journey as a guitarist.

Follow The Lesson Plan CloselyGuitar Tips and Tricks – How You Can Learn Basic Guitar | Guitar Guide

I know that it may be tempting to skip a few lessons or watch some lessons in advanced, especially if you are really enthusiastic about learning something new. However, this is not something that I recommend. The reason why there is a lesson plan is because if you learn just a few techniques here and there, you may not develop a strong foundation of the basic concepts. This could lead to you not being able to cope with future lessons. I strongly encourage you to follow the lesson plan and not skip a certain topic if you are a complete novice at playing the guitar. You should only skip a lesson if it says you can do so, and only if you are really confident in that technique that is taught.

Practice, practice and more practice

Practice makes perfect. It’s not a cliché. It’s a fact. I hope you remember my other guitar tips and tricks, but this one is what will get you from a complete novice to a maestro. The Basics Of Guitar Chord Lessons

Are you looking for guitar chord lessons? Read on because I will be sharing some basics with you. If you are totally new to the guitar, I hope that by the end of this article, you will have a better understanding of chords and how you can learn them.

Guitar Chord Lessons – Learn Individual Notes

Before you start learning how to play a chord, it is important that you learn how to play individual notes first. This is because a chord is made up of at least three individual notes. I encourage you to familiarize yourself with your guitar, and then master the finger positions on the guitar neck. Keep practicing until you get each note right! That way, it will be easier for you to progress and move on to the next step.

The Basics Of Guitar Chord Lessons | Guitar Guide

Guitar Chord Lessons – How Chords Are Made Up

As I mentioned earlier, a chord is made up of at least three individual notes. Generally speaking, the basic guitar chords contain three notes. They are the root note, the third and the fifth of the key. For example, a C Major chord is made up of a C (the root note), E (the third) and a G (the fifth). The notes will be different if it were a C minor chord because the C minor is a scale that is slightly different from the C major scale.

Besides all that, you should also take note that there are different ways to play a chord. These variations are called inversions. Inversions exist to add change the way a song sounds. You will probably learn more about inversions later on once you are more familiar with chords. However, because you are starting out, I do suggest that you keep this at the back of your mind for the time being but do not spend too much time experimenting with inversions yet. The time will come for you to play with them.

Guitar Chord Lessons – Practice Makes Perfect

I hope I am not giving you a cliché by saying that practice makes perfect, but it is true. At the start, I do not encourage that you learn every single chord at once. There is a learning curve involved, so do not cram your mind by making yourself learn all he chords. Take this as a learning journey. Learn the basic chords first and move on once you have mastered them.

I hope by now you have a better understanding of guitar chord lessons. Do remember to have fun while you are learning to play the guitar.
